Update September 2008 – Commercial Energy Assessments
Slightly more time to comply – On 9 September the Government announced that where a property under 2,500 sq m is already on the market as of 01 October 2008 the deadline for obtaining an Energy Performance Certificate will be 4 January 2009. If the property is sold or let in the interim period the vendor/landlord must commission an EPC on exchange of contracts. The introduction of this variation will take the immediate pressure off vendors and landlords where a property under 2,500 sq m is already on the market.
