Business rates are the highest occupational costs for a business occupier after rent and it is therefore essential that commercial properties are correctly assessed for rates and not overvalued.

Following an initial "without obligation" assessment to determine whether a rating appeal is worthwhile, Johnson Tucker LLP submit an Appeal to the Valuation Office and handle all correspondence, documentation and negotiations on behalf of our client with the Valuation Office.

The trend of the Valuation Office to assess rateable values at more accurate levels has in no way prevented us from consistently achieving high levels of success for clients on all aspects of commercial property.

We also advise clients on other ways of mitigating rates such as getting an assessment removed from the list.

Empty Property Rates are to become an increasing burden for ratepayers. We have a bespoke service marrying owners of vacant properties with occupiers willing to occupy premises on a short tem flexible basis.
